Jack was raised in Ashland, attending Lincoln Elementary School (RIP) before attending Ashland High School and lettering in Theatre (nerd). He attended College of the Redwoods in Eureka, California to earn his EMT certification. He spent some time at Rogue Community College before finding his dream job as a Lead Stagehand at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival where he has worked for 18 seasons.
In 2015 Jack was one of the first voices to call for the unionization of the stagehands at OSF. He worked tirelessly with the contract creation team and the negotiation team in order to see all workers treated with respect and dignity in the workplace. He served as IATSE 154's charter Vice President. He was also subsequently elected as the union Business Agent and a trustee. He believes in the power of many voices coming together to build a better future.
Jack and his wife welcomed their first child into this world in 2025 at Ashland Community Hospital. As he watches the school district shrink, the hospital close, the university struggle, and small businesses surviving month to month, he wants to do what he can to ensure his daughter has a thriving community in which to grow. He knows the power of the Ashland Community and wants to strengthen it for years to come.
